Analytics overview

Built-in dashboards, your own dashboards, reports and funnels that show how people use your app and respond to your messages.

Updated 1 Nov 2026 3 min read

Analytics shows what people do in your app and how they respond to the messages you send. You get ready-made dashboards on day one. When you have a question they don't answer, you build your own dashboard, report or funnel from the same events.

Everything on these pages reads the Test or Live environment you are in. Switch environments with the selector in the top bar. Test numbers never include Live data.

What you can do

Tool Use it to Guide
Built-in dashboards Track growth, engagement, campaign results, delivery health and reach without any setup. Built-in dashboards
Custom dashboards Put the numbers you care about on one page, share it with your team, and make it your home page. Custom dashboards
Dashboard templates Start from a ready-made dashboard for your industry by mapping its steps to your own events. Dashboard templates
Reports Ask your own questions: how often something happens (Trends), how it splits by a property (Breakdown), and who comes back (Retention). Reports
Scheduled reports Email a saved report to your team every day, week or month. Email a report on a schedule
Funnels See where people drop off between steps and how long they take to finish. Funnels
Alerts Get told by email, Slack, Teams or a webhook when a campaign fails, a sender loses access or events stop. Alerts

Open Dashboards and Funnels from the Analytics group in the sidebar, and Alerts and Reports from the Reports & Alerts group. Scheduled reports are on the Schedules tab of Reports. RFM is under Audience, then RFM Segments.

Ideas that apply everywhere

Date range and granularity. Every analytics page has a date range (Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days or Custom) and a granularity (Hourly, Daily, Weekly or Monthly). Granularity sets how finely a chart is cut. Hourly works for ranges of 31 days or less.

Time zone. Dates are cut in your workspace's reporting time zone. A line under the filters shows the exact dates and the zone. If your browser is in a different zone, the page tells you.

Active user. An active user is a person with at least one recorded event in the period. Passive events (events the app records in the background, not through something the person did) and imported history don't make someone active.

Identified people. By default, numbers count only people your systems have identified, meaning people who have an external ID. Tick Include UnIdentified on a built-in dashboard to count anonymous installs too.

Click-through rate. For push, click-through rate is clicks divided by delivered messages. For email it is clicks divided by opened messages. Opens are not tracked for push.

Conversions. A conversion is an event you mark as a conversion in Data > Data Management > Events, or the goal you set on a campaign or flow. Analytics counts conversions. It does not show revenue.

Imported history. Events you import from a file are kept apart from live activity. Reports, funnels and event metrics leave them out unless you turn on Include imported history.

Who can see what. You need permission to view analytics to open these pages. Creating dashboards, reports and funnels needs the manage permission. Ask a workspace admin if a button is missing. See Team and roles.

Where to start

  1. Open Analytics and look at Key Metrics. It tells you whether new users, activity and retention are moving the right way.
  2. Open Campaign Stats to see how your messages perform.
  3. Star the dashboard you check most so it opens first.
  4. When you have a specific question, build a report or a funnel.
